You Are Your Own Enemy
I lost my phone at 'Mlango Kubwa.' I cried so hard and to relieve myself of the stress, I put it down on paper. Someone accused me falsely. I felt so bad and complained a lot about, but to put it behind me, I put it down on paper. The pressure was too much for me and I almost snapped. I struggled so hard to remain on my feet but pen and paper came to my rescue.

After all these, I assessed myself and realized this, paper and pen thing was meant to emanate into something great. But there was this great obstacle. LAZINESS! I remember telling people, ‘’you know what? I have this writing talent but I am just too lazy.’ Did I just call myself lazy? Oh yeah I was. Don’t we just curse ourselves sometimes? Aren’t we just our own enemies?

Most of us are in the habit of saying, ‘’I can do this and this but I haven’t gotten the opportunity to prove myself.’’ Really? In this age and time, are we still waiting for manner to fall from heaven? I will always use myself as an example. I created a blog in 2012 but even after that I could still say, ‘’I can write but I just don’t know where to post my stuff. Talk of the love of being spoon-fed. This reminds me of that Oga movie I watched recently in which students were promised magic pens that would answer exam questions for them. All they had to do was hold the magic pens on the answer booklets and the magic would be done. Shock on them when at the end of the test, they still had blank pages. Great nitwits huh?

This country has many poverty-stricken areas but the irony is, the areas in question have rich resources. The youth in the areas have resolved to robbery to make ends meet because they are too lazy to exploit the resources. Now that’s the problem with us Africans. We love being spoon-fed and that’s why you will hear slogans like ‘’serikali saidia’’ almost on a daily basis on tely. Simple. If you can’t work hard, then you have no business coveting anything. Because no matter how many times you covet, you won’t be able to get it.

No one was born poor and so no one is meant to die poor. I believe in this slogan,’ Get rich or die trying.’’ Just my thoughts though!
