TORTURE

Torture comes to us in so many ways and it can at times send us into a tranche. Seen mentally unstable people on the streets? They might have undergone a severe form of torture that affected their mental stability. There are different forms of torture and I will touch on the major types.

PHYSICAL TORTURE

This type affects us either directly or indirectly. We all remember the incident where a teacher was captured on camera by a fellow teacher torturing students in the name of punishing them. It is because of this type torture that corporal punishment was banned in Schools because it was doing more harm than good. We've also had incidences  where husbands have beaten their wives to the point of injuring them badly! Physical torture should be condemned in the strongest terms possible!

EMOTIONAL TORTURE

This is the worst form of torture because it happens deep within. When people say hurtful words to
you, they might not care to know how emotionally affected you are. They might feel they exercised their right when they insulted you but truth is that is never necessary at times. When a child has to run away from home because she is done with emotional torture from her aunt, step dad/mum, it leaves a lot to be desired. Social media is known for seriously torturing people's emotions. Catch yourself in a scandal and you will wish for the earth to stand so that you can alight. Emotional torture can lead to depression and eventually death.

PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE

Some of us remember the photos of two small girls that were making rounds on social media. Right? The minors were being sexually molested by a man fit to be their father. That was so disheartening! The ordeal might not leave the small girls minds  and if not passed through Counselling their psychology might be affected immensely. City life is in itself psychological torture to many. How many have looked for jobs for several years without success? How many have found padlocks on their doors for late rent payment? You loose a job and you have a mother waiting for something small every month! Your wife wants what she wants and doesn't give a damn about how you will do it! Your care taker is on your case like a chief magistrate! If this is not psychological torture, what is? These are scenarios where people's lifeless bodies are found dangling on the roofs of their rent in arrears houses!

We can control physical torture but we just can't control emotional and psychological torture! We can at least manage it though!
