Manase posses with a dammie cheque of sh 24,883,003 |
Picture this. You are used to earning 15,000 ksh or
rather 40, 000 ksh a month then one day you wake up and you are 25 million
rich! Doesn’t that scare you? Okay. It scares me a lot! The thought of owning these
kind of money in one go really causes me goose bums. I mean. How do I adjust to
being a millionaire from just a low or rather average income earner? How do I
handle all these money? Well, I guess John Manase Buko is in the same dilemma as well.
John Manase Buko is all smiles as he receives a cheque
of 24, 883,003 ksh from the mCHEZA company. The 29 year old who has spent about
600,000 ksh on betting with other companies, won the jackpot after placing a
bet of 800 ksh on matches he was not even sure about. He was only sure of three
matches.
The Ngao Tana River resident says it has not been
easy despite stating that betting is not an addiction but a fun activity. Buko
has a big file which contains match analysis and research materials. He says,
betting is not just a matter of placing bets on matches, research is very
important.
“I have been betting for so long and
this win is actually a breath through! I attribute everything to God for He
made it possible for me. It is not easy taking soft loans just for the purpose
of betting.” He says
The jackpot winner reveals that her mum
was against the betting activity stating that it is a waste of time and money. Manase
comes from a humble family. Her mum is a Primary School teacher while the dad
is a former politician. He has one brother and four sisters, where by one of
the sisters is his twin.
A chemical engineer by profession, Buko reveals
that, he plans to set up his own car garage which he will be operating over the
weekend for he does not plan to quit his job. He also plans to give a fraction of the money to the church. On marriage,
he refuses to give any hints stating that, that is personal.
mCHEZA turns 6 months on Saturday 18th
June. Since its inception, it has managed to award three jackpot winners who
are now part of the mCHEZA Company. Manase will receive undying support from
Mcheza and Kenya Commercial Bank where he will be banking, to avoid any
financial management hiccups.
