THERE ARE MOMENTS IN LIFE WHEN PLEASING THE CAMERA IS NOT A CHOICE!

On Friday July 22,2016, a Dj emerged winner of the Shikilia Nganya na Pilsner promotion. David Nazareth a 35 year old entrepreneur come employee in an events management company won a brand new 29-seater Isuzu NPR matatu worth KSH 4.6 million. A round of applause for David! Yes it was a round of applause for him but the excitement of a man who had just won a brand new matatu worth kshs 4.6 million was not evident on his face. This registered so many questions in the audience!

1. Was he really the winner of the Nganya?

He was so calm and  collected as though this was like the 50th matatu he had won! How come he is just fine with this great win? Questioned the audience. Maybe the crowd wanted him be so jumpy! To be smiling from ear to ear! They wanted him to give a grant acceptance speech like that of Barrack Obama when he won the presidency of the United States for the first time! But wait! To win this coveted Nganya one has to take countless bottles of Pilsner, right? Come on people! Give this guy a break! Can anyone try to imagine the number of times he had to go home staggering after consuming like 20 bottles of Pilsner? Can anyone guess the number of times he must have quarreled with his wife due to investing too much time and money on liquor?

2. Was this a genuine win or it was just Public Relations?

"How come it is always Njeri, Kamau, Kuria, Maina, or Njeru who always win in these competitions?" One questioned. "This guy has been paid to pose as the winner! This thing is not genuine!" Suggested another! On this one, I quite don't know what to pick of it because I have always had my doubts. Let's just assume he won because I have witnessed someone close win the Sportpesa grant prize! But also, whether he was paid or not, at the end of the day it is always business and people got to make profit somehow!

3. Is this really his wife?

I should be forgiven for having thought that a certain light skinned was the wife to the Nganya winner. I mean, she looked good! Her dress, her shoes, her hair, her make up, was all on point! The camera was definitely going to like her! So when David introduced his wife and a completely different lady stood, I swallowed my scream of surprise! So this is the point the whole audience started murmuring. One was overheard asking, "you mean this guy could not afford to take his wife to the salon for their great day?" Another one suggested that this lady must have been hired to pose as Nazareth's wife because there was no joy registered on her face, plus she was too plain for him! "Look! The lady has left yet they haven't even taken one photo together! What a boring couple!" said another. On this one, all I can say is that, when you are going to face the camera, always make sure that you please it. This was a grant win for David, but since he is married, it belongs to the both of them! You see the way the bride is always the happiest and most glamorous on the wedding day because it is a moment that comes once in a lifetime, Davids wife should have Killed it because such wins come once in a lifetime!
